How long does a custom Ram truck take to build?
The quick answer: On average, a custom-ordered Ram 1500 or Heavy Duty truck takes between 8 to 12 weeks from the time the order is submitted to the factory until it arrives at CDJR of Clifton Park. However, this timeline can fluctuate based on specific trim levels, constrained parts, and production schedules. Our team will provide a more precise estimate when we build your truck.
How to Custom Order a Ram in 4 Steps
Ordering a vehicle directly from the factory is easier than most buyers realize. We lock in your pricing, secure your build sheet, and track the truck from the assembly line to our dealership.
Step 1: Design Your Truck
Sit down with one of our Ram experts. We will go through the exact build sheet with you. You choose the cab size, bed length, engine (like the new Hurricane I6 or Cummins Diesel), interior packages, technology groups, and paint color.
Step 2: Lock in Pricing & Financing
Once the truck is configured, we agree on the final price. The great thing about custom ordering is that you are eligible for qualifying incentives and rebates either at the time of order OR at the time of delivery—whichever is better for you.
Step 3: Track the Build
After the order is submitted, you will receive a Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) and a Vehicle Order Number (VON). We will keep you updated as your truck moves through the scheduling, framing, paint, trim, and shipping phases.
Step 4: Take Delivery
