What's New for the RAM 1500?
You see some great updates to this year's model, which includes a new Tungsten trim to raise the bar for luxury in a pickup truck. The new infotainment system will give you a 14.5-inch Uconnect touchscreen if you select the Tungsten trim. You also receive a 10.25-inch passenger interactive display mounted on the passenger dashboard. For the new engine, in replacement of the Hemi V8, they will now use a twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter Hurricane inline-six. That will provide you with a more than adequate replacement.
The new engine produces 420 horsepower and 469-pound-feet of torque. It all feels so remarkable with the level of refinement that you receive with this truck. Provided you choose the top-level trim, you can get an engine that produces up to 540 horsepower. All of these pairs have an eight-speed automatic transmission.
Safety
You will encounter a host of great safety features with the RAM 1500. Some of the standard safety features include blindspot monitoring, forward collision warning, and lane-keep assist. You also get adaptive cruise control stop-and-go and LED headlights with automatic high beams. The RAM 1500 also includes some optional safety features like head-up display, park assist, evasive steering assist, and driver attention monitoring. The NHTSA scored the RAM 1500 five out of five stars. You got four out of five stars on the rollover test.
